Is Commodity Futures Exchange Act true reason for Economic Collapse?

Question by JEN MYOB: Is Commodity Futures Exchange Act true reason for Economic Collapse?
I watched 60 minutes this eve and was immersed in how our Government was allowing this Futures Exchange Act in 2000 for the Stock Market which was basically flying in the face of Bucket Shop Laws that disallowed and made it a felony to BET on our U.S. Market downturn & upswing. Bucket Shop Laws made it a Felony to Bet on it and our WONDERFUL Government re-allowed it which opened up the opportunistic greed that sealed our present condition. Is this true?

I know about puts/calls which is gambling on the market as well…shouldn’t THAT practice as well as this Commodity Futures Exchange Act no longer be allowed?

“Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000” was a financial house of cards. This act allowed credit-swaps (outlawed previously by Glass-Steagall) to come back into play. So people could once again “buy cheap insurance bets” that “covered” losses on stocks.

Meanwhile people’s mortgages were being re-packaged into “mortgage securities” as stocks for investors to buy. Lot’s of the investors made “side bets” by buying credit-swaps as insurance in case the mortgage securities went sour from home owner foreclosures…

The market went sour, the mortgage securities tanked, the credit-swap “insurance” had to be paid, and We the People are now paying for all the losses…

Silver Price Over $40 Gold $1603, Economic Collapse in West, Building Mega Cities in the East

Silver prices above Gold price at 03. With western economies on the verge of an economic collapse, the Asian countries are building mega cities. While some may be empty right now, they likely wont be for long. Cities are a large consumer of energy and commodities. Growing populations in Asia and around the world will be the driver for the forseeable future of commodities and energy consuption. The rising wages of workers in Asia will allow more of them to invest in silver and gold bullion as well as buy all the same gadgets of their western counter parts. Correction: China will be building 20 cities a year for the next 20 years. I misspoke in the vid and said 2015. Chinas empty cities www.dailymail.co.uk Google Map of Mega City maps.google.com India to Build private cities business.in.com India’s Solar cities www.indianexpress.com Migrant Workers Refuse to go back to farm www.montrealgazette.com

Will the rising unemployment rate in Australia due to the global economic crisis affect my career prospects?

Question by Mr. Anorak: Will the rising unemployment rate in Australia due to the global economic crisis affect my career prospects?
I’m currently living in Melbourne, Australia.

I’m a university student who will be graduating with a Bachelor of Business (International Business) degree in December.

I’ve also completed a TAFE qualification, an Advanced Diploma of Business (international Trade).

I also plan on furthering my education next year by pursuing an MBA.

However, lately I’ve been a bit concerned with the world financial crisis. With rising inflation rates and unemployment rates, I’m afraid that my career prospects will suffer in the future.

With the qualifications I currently have and will possess in the next few years, will my chances of finding a job suffer?

Thanks for your input.
