I don’t understand futures all too well. Can someone explain the reason?

I think you are looking at two different indices. NASDAQ Composite is 2219 and NASDAQ 100 is 1842. The Future should be fairly in line but while the markets asre closed there may be a premium or discount to account for traders expectations.

Taking Smart Decisions With The Futures Trading System
Article by Lan Turner
Even a person who is extremely well-informed regarding the economy would possibly get confused when it involves the history of public trading! The main reason for this is Easy! Originally when the general public first started looking at and had access to the stock industry and environment and found that they had no need of a broker – chaos ensues!
A lot of the individuals who knew how the stock market worked would take part in what would now be known as blind trading. These people involved in blind trading had a variety of other people investing in a variety of markets and had absolutely no plan of any kind – simply selecting random brand names.
Unfortunately this tactic resulted in a lot of people losing their money and a few say that it might have caused the monetary decline we are in now! As the market rebounds more and more people are attempting to seek intelligent methods of educating themselves and making money within the marketplace once more. One of these tactics is a program called Futures Trading Software.
This program helps individuals assess their investments and is an amazing way for a “newbie” to discover profit they might otherwise not achieve. Now that many individuals are getting back into the market (after losing money) they are smartening up and are all trying to seek the best Forex software have it be Futures trading or something completely different.
Not only is this a smart method to trade, however it has sufficient knowledge to help you learn and educate yourself on future trading. While nothing will ever be perfect, have it be utilizing your own brain or making use of Forex trading software, the change in individuals purchasing the software is incredible. You can practically find thousands of boards and forums with millions of persons talking about programs like Futures Trading and how much it has helped them to make a return on investment.
The biggest reason individuals love this tool so much is because it helps you learn, yes, but it also helps predict trends in the market! If this appears like the type of Forex trading system you’d be interested in owning, then Futures trading software is most certainly going to be a good investment! Nevertheless, just like any investment, please do your research and get to know how these programs operate and what they can (or can’t) bring to the table!

can i trade futures in an ira account?
Question by Raymond L: can i trade futures in an ira account?
what broker allows me to do this?

Answer by Thor
Last I heard you can’t. It is too risky and prohibited for retirement accounts that get tax deferred status.
Like a trust, a tax deferred investment account is considered it’s own entity in a sense and both you and the account holder have a fiduciary responsibility to protect the account.
High risk investments are considered irresponsible and a breech of that fuduciary responsibility.

The Basics of Futures Trading
Have you heard of futures trading? From day trading to positions trading, many people trade in the futures markets. There are also futures options where traders trade an option contract which is directly related to the underlying futures market.
What exactly are they trading? Future commodity trading is not like the stock market where people buy shares of a stock. You do not actual own anything. You are just speculating on what the price will be of a commodity in the future.
When you want to put on a futures trade, you must first put up margin money. This is in case the market moves against you; you will have enough capital to pay the loss to the brokerage firm.
Although speculators make up the bulk of futures traders, the markets were intended to protect farmers from losing everything.
A farmer can hedge in the futures and protect any loss he will have in the cash market. A farmer can sell the futures, if he thinks the price will rise before the harvest. Regardless of the wheat’s on the market, will guarantee both its price.
A speculator is only commercial interests at a profit. If he thinks the market rises, he is buying futures. If he thinks the market falls, he would sell the future. You do not have to ownThe first contract, to sell it.
First, you can sell the futures contract.
Is there a danger in any kind of trade. That is why some traders only buy futures options, so they know their risk, which limits them to pay for the option. Others, who trade futures contracts, technical analysis, as Fibonacci trading. You will only enter trades that the criteria of chart analysis.
