There are lots of ways to do this, much depends on your unique time vs money situation. Here are some quick/cheap ideas.

1) Get and read Dan Kennedy’s “No BS” series of books, especially the ones on Sales and on Marketing.

2) Contact the 3 or 5 or 10 customers who love you best. Ask them for a “sponsored referral letter” as explained in Kennedy’s books. These work very well with high income people.

3) If that doesn’t give you enough lead volume, then you’ll have to go to “cold” mailings. Write down everything that your best customers have in common. Age, income, profession, location, attitudes, how they found you, what magazines they read, where they hang out, what cars they drive, everything. Look for strong unique patterns.
Then buy a small mailing list of whatever your budget will support that matches the patterns. Mail the letters as Kennedy describes (in series).

bailout situation- what do people think about this message (no slanted republican or democratic views please) ?

Question by snwbm: bailout situation- what do people think about this message (no slanted republican or democratic views please) ?
What do people think about this message?
The Great Depression was a worldwide economic downturn starting in most places in 1929 and ending at different times in the 1930s or early 1940s for different countries. It was the largest and most important economic depression in modern history, and is used in the 21st century as a benchmark on how far the world’s economy can fall. The Great Depression originated in the United States; historians most often use as a starting date the stock market crash on October 29, 1929.
The depression had devastating effects both in thedeveloped and developing world. International trade was deeply affected, as were personal incomes, tax revinues and profits. Cities all around the world were hit hard, especially those dependent onHeavy industry. Construction was virtually halted in many countries. Farmingand rural areas suffered as crop prices fell by 40 to 60 percent. Facing plummeting demand with few alternate sources of jobs, areas dependent on primary sectors such as farming, mining, and logging suffered the most.Even shortly after the Wall Street Crash of 1929, optimism persisted. John D Rockefeller said that ‘These are days when many are discouraged. The Great Depression ended at different times in different countries. The majority of countries set up relief programs, and most underwent some sort of political upheaval, pushing them to the left or right. In some states, the desperate citizens turned toward nationalist demagogues- the most infamous being Adolf Hitler – setting the stage for World War II in 1939.

READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY
The Great Depression was not a sudden total collapse. The stock market turned upward in early 1930, returning to early 1929 levels by April, though still almost 30 percent below the peak of September 1929. Together, government and business actually spent more in the first half of 1930 than in the corresponding period of the previous year. But consumers, many of whom had suffered severe losses in the stock market the previous year, cut back their expenditures by ten percent.
In early 1930, credit was ample and available at low rates, but people were reluctant to add new debt by borrowing. By May 1930, auto sales had declined to below the levels of 1928. Prices in general began to decline, but wages held steady in 1930, then began to drop in 1931. Conditions were worst in farming areas, where commodity prices plunged, and in mining and logging areas, where unemployment was high and there were few other jobs. The decline in the American economy was the motor that pulled down most other countries at first, then internal weaknesses or strengths in each country made conditions worse or better. Frantic attempts to shore up the economies of individual nations through protectionist policies, like the 1930 U.S. Smoot Hawley tarriff act and retaliatory tariffs in other countries, exacerbated the collapse in global trade. By late in 1930, a steady decline set in which reached bottom by March 1933.
ANY OF THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?
I would like to mention that I am NOT a REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT.
I hate both parties equally. But I must mention that Obama keeps mentioning protecting american jobs by instituting rules such as the Smoot Hawley Tarriff act. To be fair, I don’t have faith in Mccain either. I think he would have the potential to sit on his hands and do nothing during major crices (lil bush).

CAUSES OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION
The search for causes is closely connected to the question of how to avoid a future depression, and so the political and policy viewpoints of scholars are mixed into the analysis of historic events eight decades ago. The even larger question is whether it was largely a failure on the part of free markets or largely a failure on the part of governments to curtail widespread bank failures, the resulting panics, and reduction in the money supply. Those who believe in a large role for governments in the economy believe it was mostly a failure of the free markets and those who believe in free markets believe it was mostly a failure of government that compounded the problem.
DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR????????
Second, there are structural theories, that point to underconsumption and overinvestment (ECONOMIC BUBBLE), malfeasance by bankers and industrialists, or incompetence by government officials. The only consensus viewpoint is that there was a large-scale lack of confidence. Unfortunately, once panic and deflation set in, many people believed they could make more money by keeping clear of the markets as prices got lower and lower and a given amount of money bought ever more goods.
DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR????????

Cheap credit
In the 1920s, American consumers and businesses relied on cheap credit, the former to purchase consumer goods such as automobiles and furniture, and the latter for capital investment to increase production. (just like the last few years) This fueled strong short-term growth but created consu

Do people like to keep their favorite day or swing trading stocks a secret?

Question by FUHummer: Do people like to keep their favorite day or swing trading stocks a secret?
There always seem to be a certain percentage of people here asking for advice on which stocks are “good” stocks to invest in. My question is: if people, particularly short term investors like day and swing traders, have “favorite” stocks that they like to play around with because they get good returns from them on a fairly consistent basis….are those people hesitant to tell other people about these stocks? Do they have a desire to keep them secret?

If so, is this based more upon superstition than anything else, or is there a good financial reason not to have a lot of other people know about, or get involved with these same stocks? Are they afraid, for example, that if more people, like novice investors, for example, who just like to hold onto stocks for long periods of time get involved with their favorite stocks, that the trading volume of the stock would be adversely affected so that the stock wouldn’t have as much up and down movement on a daily basis for example, thus making it less desirable for day or swing trading???

In other words, is there a fear that if the general multitude finds out about your favorite stock that you regularly trade and they decide to buy into it, that they could mess it up somehow, and if so, how would that happen?

Answer by Brian
I am just starting to trade myself so there’s only so much I can answer here. It does seem that very successful traders are reluctant to share their so called secrets. However, it has to do with pride and ego and not being afraid novices like you will “ruin the party”.

If anything, the more people who invest, the more profit for these traders there is to make. More investors will only mean more liquidity which makes it easier to enter and exit trades, thus facilitating their trading.

Think of it like this: if you were an expert poker player and a bunch of novice poker players joined the game and put their money in the pot, wouldn’t you want more rather than less of them there considering it’ll mean you’ll get to take more people’s money?

There really is no such thing as it being bad for there to be a ton of people invested in a stock. It only means more profits for those who know what they’re doing.

How many people actually make it in the futures market on average?

Question by : How many people actually make it in the futures market on average?

Best answer:

Answer by John D
There are many traders who through time, patience and education learned to make consistent profit in the future market and became millionaires. However Futures trading is just like trading in the stock market. Some hit gold others barely make it, and yet others lose everything.

How do people generate any reliable income from trading stocks? I have a basic understanding, very basic of the stock market. I use to visit etrade & just watch the dow go up & down. But I have no experience & haven’t read anything about it. I watched this documentary, and seen this guy who was really rich. I read later in an article that he is a “Prosperous Commodities trader” So now here i am trying to figure out how he makes money. Like what is the process? how do these guys recognize opportunity in stocks? And at what point does your opinion count in a company, as a share holder? Please, if anyone can educate me on this. And maybe suggest a book or books, or websites w/good info on this? I have read Rich dad poor dad, and I am now going to be an entrepreneur, I have just quit my job to pursue my entrepreneurship & I am 22 years old in the Los Angeles area. Please, all information, suggestions, advice! Everything! I know I have to be a good listener to be successful, so here I am, I will soak up all the information you provide. I need all I can get, I will read pages & pages of what u have to tell me, you will not waste your time, typing up long answers. Thank you very very much!

What are some jobs in the health care field that have shortages of people besides nursing?

Question by GoldenAgeHollywoodGirl: What are some jobs in the health care field that have shortages of people besides nursing?

I was reading an article and I read this comment.

forget a 4 year college
This goes to show how a 4 year degree is becoming obsolete and a burden. A recent article on msn stated that almost 60 percent of America’s workforce, those with college degrees, are working in positions in which they are over qualified for. Many positions do not even require a college degree.

GO TO VOCATIONAL SCHOOL! There are many excellent vocational programs out there and now is the time to join. Since many trade workers will be retiring soon there is a great need for people with special skills: like electricians, crane operators, and welders, to replace the workers who are retiring.

In the medical industries field there is a great shortage of MRI techs, Radiology Techs, EEG techs, RN’s (even with a 2 year voc liscense), surgical techs etc. And don’t forget about the computer industry. (Think about Bill Gates.)

Also there are a lot of excellent on line schools out there that offer just as much as the brick and morder schools do but for a much less price.

We as a country need to stop the strangle hold that 4 year universities and colleges have on us. As someone who is suffering with student loan debt even many years after graduating from an overpriced over inflated 4 year university, I know the importance of giving my children the advantage of training for a good job without the burden of large student loan debt. With the US fluctuating job market, it is often a crap shoot on wheither or not one can find a high enough paying job to payback his/her student loans. If one cannot, forget about any kind of financial future such as being able to buy a house. There are many, like me, who are working in jobs in which we do not even use our 4 year degree(s). When I first started working in the health care field no one cared that I had a BA degree in Journalism. That would not even get me a job as a Patient Services Rep. I had to work my way up to that. What hospital employers cared about is what kind of experience I had. Up to 45% of us are working in jobs in which are degrees do not apply.

So unless you are going onto law school, medical school, or a career in social work. Forget about it.

It is time as a nation that we stopped letting 4 year institutions of learning bleed us dry.

*******
So it got me to thinking why should I waste my time and money on a business degree in Accounting/Finance when I will most likely not be working in my field.

This was the article I was reading.
